Job Description


You will be recruited as a site-based Sales Adviser to provide an effective sales operation, achieving optimum selling prices whilst maintaining Company standards and delivering high standards of service in the Sales Office of a leading FOOTSIE 100 national house builder in the Northampton area. The role offers full training and structured career progression opportunities. Responsibilities will include:

  • Maximise profits by achievement of new home and add on sales, as well as choices and expressions to suitable clients in line with agreed targets e.g. legal completions, average selling price
  • Look after all prospective/existing purchasers in a welcoming, professional and efficient manner, delivering exceptional customer service
  • Provide expertise in the Company’s house types, specs, extras and procedures
  • Match all Group schemes available to seek to secure the maximum possible sales, ensuring that all customers are qualified
  • Take responsibility for maintaining the presentation of show homes, completed product and the sales office to the agreed standard,and ensure that adequate on-site and off-site signage is maintained
  • Ensure that all paperwork and site administration is up to date, and required reports are completed within deadlines. Provide weekly management internal reports and updates to line management
  • Use incentives effectively to ensure a good flow of sales whilst maximising profit to the company
  • Conduct local and market research, and competitor analysis in line with OFT guidelines in order to demonstrate excellent knowledge and awareness of the local area, amenities and current market
  • Promote Group mortgage arrangements, including referral to IMA, managing transactions and ensuring timely completions
  • Apply an to date working knowledge of all legal requirements (PMA, CML, H&S, Data Protection Act and Consumer Code)
  • Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with all relevant internal colleagues and external contacts, in particular, the Sales Manager, Site Manager and UNITE team
  • Effectively manage the CRM database, i-Sales and TLCMS
  • Contribute PR / marketing proposals to Sales Manager
  • Attend regular training courses as identified in the Sales Performance Tracker


You will have: experience of working in a customer facing sales environment; be commercially astute with a good understanding of the market and competitors; an ability to understand and act upon customer needs to maintain Company reputation; be driven to achieve personal and organisational targets; an ability to remain calm and keep up to date with including legislation, economic conditions and technology; be able to Communicate and negotiate persuasively and build relationships across functions, internally and externally; excellent communication skills; flexibility with hours, particularly with regard to weekends and bank holidays


Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades C and above, including Maths and English, but preference will be give to candidates with A-Levels or ambitious graduates.


This training role offers the very competitive benefits package you would expect from a leading employer, including a starting salary package of £25,000 and a fully flexible benefits and pension. Hours of work: 35 hours a week, Thursday to Monday, including Saturday, Sunday and public/bank holidays. 10:00 am to 17:00 pm. Realistic OTE for Sales Advisers is £45k
